Denis Shapovalov has been confirmed for this year’s BNP Paribas Nordic Open in Stockholm. The 25-year-old Canadian, a former World No. 10, will return to the Royal Tennis Hall as the 56th edition of the tournament takes place from October 11–19.

Known for his explosive playing style and spectacular one-handed backhand, Shapovalov has established himself as one of the most exciting players on the ATP Tour. He owns four ATP titles, reached the semifinals at Wimbledon in 2021, and was a US Open quarterfinalist in 2020. Notably, his very first ATP title came in Stockholm back in 2019, making his return to the Swedish capital extra special.

With Shapovalov joining the field, fans can look forward to another world-class name in this year’s tournament where several top players have already been confirmed.

“Having Denis back in Stockholm is fantastic news. He has a special connection to the tournament after winning his maiden ATP title here, and his explosive game always makes him a crowd favorite. His presence adds even more excitement to this year’s edition,” says Thomas Enqvist, Tournament Director at BNP Paribas Nordic Open.
