With three Grand Slam finals, a recent Masters 1000 title in Madrid, and a place among the world’s very best players, Casper Ruud has established himself as the Nordic region’s premier tennis star. Now he’s preparing for this year’s BNP Paribas Nordic Open – aiming for his first title in Stockholm!

In recent years, Casper Ruud has taken the tennis world by storm. The 25-year-old Norwegian has climbed to the top tier of the ATP rankings, competed in three Grand Slam finals, and won a total of eleven ATP titles – including his biggest victory to date at the ATP Masters 1000 in Madrid earlier this year. With these achievements, he has etched his name into Norwegian sports history and become a prominent figure on the international tennis scene.

The year 2025 has brought both new challenges and major highlights for Ruud as he continues to solidify his position among the world’s elite players. He has shown his strength on clay – where he is already recognized as one of the tour’s very best – but has also developed his game on faster surfaces, making him especially exciting to watch in Stockholm.

This will be Casper Ruud’s fourth appearance at the BNP Paribas Nordic Open. His best result so far is a quarterfinal last year, and now he returns to the Royal Tennis Hall with his sights set on going even further. Every time he steps onto the center court in Stockholm, he does so with a Nordic crowd behind him – an audience that feels a sense of ownership over one of their own.

Beyond his sporting achievements, Ruud is also known as one of the most likeable and humble players on the ATP Tour. His calm demeanor and respect for both opponents and fans have made him a respected ambassador for the sport – both in Norway and internationally.
