Three top 10 players will take the stage for the quarterfinals at the BNP Paribas Nordic Open. The last time the Royal Tennis Hall featured such a line-up was back in 1997.
Four highly suspensful quarterfinals await on Friday at the Royal Tennis Hall. No less than three top 10 players Grigor Dimitrov, Andrey Rublev, and Casper Ruud are in action, along with 2021 champion Tommy Paul, 3-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka, Dominic Stricker, Miomir Kecmanović, and Tallon Griekspoor.
One of the standout performers on Thursday was world number seven Andrey Rublev, who defeated rising star Frenchman Alexandre Müller in straight sets 6-4, 6-1.
"I am surprised that I played so well. It was really a perfect match," Rublev said at the press conference.
Grigor Dimitrov also impressed the crowd on Thursday evening against what was expected to be tough French opposition. The Bulgarian currently ranked world number ten won the match 7-6 (7-1), 6-3 against Quentin Halys, who lost the match despite having fired 19 aces.
"He is one of the best servers I have faced in a long time, and the fact that he could place his serve in so many different spots made it even harder," Dimitrov commented after the match.
