Legendary Names in the Winner Lists
Since the tournament began in 1969, 118 finals have been played in Stockholm. In four of the 55 editions, there have been singles and doubles categories for both men and women. The list of winners is filled with great tennis names. All singles champions have been ranked in the world’s top 14 and have at least reached the round of 16 in a Grand Slam tournament.
Below are all the final results in the tournament’s history. Results from all rounds in the men’s categories can be found HERE.
*In the early editions, some final results may differ slightly between various reputable and contemporary sources. In these few cases, the official result from the players’ organizations’ websites has been assumed to be correct. A number of tiebreak results are still missing in doubles. In the earlier editions, these were rarely recorded, and it is possible that some tiebreak results are lost forever, especially since the tournament’s archives were lost in the fire at Salkhallen on September 3, 1993.
The summary below includes only the final results of international categories that were an official part of the tournament and bore its name. For example, during certain years in the 1970s, unofficial women’s events, such as the “Damcupen,” were held. These competitions took place alongside the tournament week but had a distinctly national character and were therefore not sanctioned by the international tour organization.
There have also been numerous side events that were not internationally recognized. These include junior team matches, mini-tennis tournaments, and university championships. In recent years, the finals of the Sofia Cup and the Pirre's Trophy have been held in conjunction with the ATP tournament. In these team competitions for the nation's top 14-year-olds, Sweden's tennis regions compete against each other.
