Friday is here, and there’s plenty of Nordic flair on display at the Royal Tennis Hall! First up on Centre Court at 12:00 is Ugo Humbert against Lorenzo Sonego – two players who know each other well, with the Frenchman leading their head-to-head 5–3.

Next, top seedHolger Runetakes to Centre Court to face Argentina’sTomas Martin Etcheverry. Rune won their only previous ATP meeting 7–6 in the deciding set, on hard court in Basel — suggesting we could be in for another thrilling battle today. Yesterday, Rune had a lively Danish fan section cheering him on from the stands – we’ll see if the atmosphere can match or even surpass that today!

The evening session kicks off at18:30withCasper RuudfacingSebastian Korda. The two met earlier this year on the clay in Madrid, where Ruud came out on top in straight sets, but indoors on hard court we can expect a different type of contest. Korda has impressed so far at this year’s Nordic Open and is chasing his third semifinal appearance of the season. However, he’s 1–5 against Top 20 opponents this year, with his only win coming against Tsitsipas in Miami this spring. Can he improve that record today against Norway’s leading star?

The day concludes with yesterday’s hero,Elias Ymer! The Swede produced one of his finest performances ever in last night’s late session against Fearnley. Has he been able to recover and recharge for today’s showdown with third seedDenis Shapovalov? The Canadian was pushed to three sets in his opening match against Leo Borg but had a day off yesterday and should come in refreshed for tonight’s clash.

Shapovalov has never lost a tour-level match to a player ranked outside the Top 200 – can Ymer change that today as he aims for just the second ATP semifinal of his career? His first came in Pune, India, in 2022. Should Ymer win, he would become the first Swede to reach the Stockholm semifinal sinceRobin Söderling in 2009, and the first Swede to make an ATP semifinal since his brotherMikael Ymerin Florence in 2022.

The two have never faced each other before.

Welcome to theRoyal Tennis Hall– an action-packed Friday awaits with world-class tennis from start to finish!
