Thursday kicked off with great energy on Centre Court, where the crowd was treated to a highly entertaining doubles match. The French duo Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul once again showed why they are among the most in-sync teams on tour, defeating André Göransson and Jackson Withrow in a dramatic, crowd-pleasing battle 6–7(2), 7–6(6), 10–5.

After the intense start, the day continued with exciting singles action. First up was the clash between Tomas Martin Etcheverry and Miomir Kecmanovic, followed by the in-form Frenchman Ugo Humbert taking on the powerful Matteo Berrettini – two matches that promised world-class tennis.

As the evening session began, the atmosphere reached new heights. Top seed Holger Rune was first on court against Marton Fucsovics – a matchup that drew an enthusiastic crowd, with plenty of Danish flags waving along the sideline. Rune lived up to the expectations, delivering solid tennis from start to finish to claim a 6–4, 6–4 victory in a match he controlled throughout.

“I didn’t know there would be Danish fans here, so when I stepped onto the court, I was really positively surprised,” Rune said afterward, adding that he was happy to be back at the venue where he captured his first ATP title.
“I have good memories from here. It’s a great arena, really cozy – I enjoy playing here.”

To close out the day, all eyes turned to Swedish favorite Elias Ymer, who stepped onto Centre Court to face Britain’s Jacob Fearnley in front of a warmly supportive home crowd – a perfect finale to a day filled with top-level tennis, emotion, and a fantastic atmosphere inside the Royal Tennis Hall.

Elias came out firing and raced through the first set 6–2. He didn’t take his foot off the gas in the second either – wrapping up a 6–2, 6–2 victory in one of his best performances in a long time. In Friday’s quarterfinal, he’ll face Denis Shapovalov in another evening showdown at the Royal Tennis Hall.

Before that, Sebastian Korda takes on Casper Ruud, and earlier in the day Holger Rune faces Tomas Martin Etcheverry – a true Nordic Friday at the Nordic Open!
