The Norwegian tennis star Casper Ruud is confirmed for the BNP Paribas Nordic Open taking place from October 12-20 in the Royal Tennis Hall. The highly popular world number seven has signed a two-year contract with the tournament organizers. Tickets for this year's tennis festival in Stockholm will be released on Monday, May 20th.

"We are incredibly pleased to welcome Casper Ruud to the BNP Paribas Nordic Open for 2024 and 2025! Casper is one of the world's leading tennis players and an outstanding ambassador for the sport. We look forward to seeing him compete in the Royal Tennis Hall and providing our fans with an unforgettable tennis experience," says Rasmus Hult, CEO.

At 25, Ruud is the highest-ranked player in the Nordics, and the notable Norwegian has recently shown that he is one of the major favorites to win the French Open in Paris. Ruud reached the finals of the Monte Carlo Masters in April after defeating world number one Novak Djokovic in an entertaining semifinal. The following week, Ruud did not lose a single set on his way to winning the title in the tennis metropolis of Barcelona.

"We are very proud that Casper is playing in Stockholm this year. He has had a great season so far and is one of the most popular and biggest stars on the ATP tour," says Thomas Enqvist, Tournament Director.

Casper Ruud has been ranked as high as number two in the world and has reached the finals of Grand Slam tournaments three times. Besides his second-place finishes in Paris the last two years and at the US Open in 2022, Ruud reached the final of the ATP Finals in 2022 on an indoor hardcourt in Turin.

The tournament was first held in 1969 in the Royal Tennis Hall and is thus the oldest indoor competition on the ATP tour. Over the years, a majority of the world's top-ranked tennis players have visited Stockholm, and the tournament winners include John McEnroe, Björn Borg, Mats Wilander, Stefan Edberg, Ivan Lendl, and Roger Federer.

Tickets for the 55th edition of the Swedish tennis classic are available from May 20th.
