Novak Djokovic can finally call himself an Olympic champion after defeating his Spanish rival, Carlos Alcaraz, 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-2) on the clay courts of Paris on Sunday. The 37-year-old Serbian is now the only player in tennis history to have won all Grand Slam tournaments, Masters tournaments, the Masters finals, and the Olympics.

In a repeat of the Wimbledon final, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz faced off in the Olympic final on the world-famous center court at Roland Garros. The match was highly competitive, with both tennis giants holding their serves throughout. Only after two strong performances in tiebreaks did Djokovic secure his long-awaited Olympic gold medal.

No other tennis player can match Novak Djokovic's impressive list of achievements. Thanks to the Olympic gold in Paris, he has completed what is known as a Career Golden Slam, i.e., winning all Grand Slam tournaments and the Olympics during his career. This feat has only been achieved by Andre Agassi and Rafael Nadal on the men's side. However, Djokovic is unique in also having won all Masters tournaments and the prestigious annual finals.

Djokovic has participated in five Olympic Games, earning a bronze medal in his debut in Beijing 2008. Few have won two Olympic medals in tennis, but looking at the entire history of Olympic tennis, a Swede actually shares the lead on the men's side. Gunnar Setterwall was Sweden's best tennis player for more than a decade at the beginning of the last century, and his four medals in 1908 and 1912 are matched only by the Britons Reginald Doherty and Charles Dixon.
